Born to Mr. Luther Whitfield Jackson and Mrs. Eva J. Jackson in Sumter South Carolina, Aug 07, 1958 I learned the values of hard work and appreciation for the entrepreneurial spirit early in life. At age 11 I began working odd jobs and by 14 I started my first business as an independent salesman of news papers for the Sumter Daily Item. Summer time in South East South Carolina provided me the opportunity to commute on the weekends to crop tobacco in Conway South Carolina. Just before becoming an adult I became a man and decided to leave Sumter September of 1975 to live with my Dad in Dillon, South Carolina. Immediately I took a job working in a textile factory and continued to work on my Uncle Joe's family farm cropping tobacco and harvesting cucumbers in the summer. The following year I acquired a job, working as a service station attendant at the famous South of the Border tourist attraction on I-95 off of exit 1in North Carolina. Shortly thereafter I purchased a car and dropped out of High School. Although I didn’t graduate high school and attend college this was the beginning of my life long education. By the end of October 1978 I joined the Navy and attended boot camp and apprenticeship training in Orlando, Fl. Again the whirlwind of life would spin me out of the Navy honorably discharged in July 1983 and back home to Dillon S.C. to find myself, and by January, 1984 I Re-enlisted in the Navy under the Rescore program as a Quarter Master (Navigation). With my new found maturity and desire for a better life I tested for and received my GED aboard the USS Austin (LPD-5) in 1987. The rest is History; I retired from active duty in October, 2003 after 25 years of dedicated Honorable service. Currently I own a successful E-business which has provided me and my family a million dollar dream home, multiple rental properties and a wonderful life.
